Who We Are

Founded in 1924, the E.W. Scripps School of 新闻 prepares students for rewarding careers as communicators.

Our more than 700 students gain experience working for award-winning student publications, broadcasts, organizations while also learning in the classroom in a 程序 that has been accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in 新闻 and Mass Communications since 1952.

Undergraduate students can earn a Bachelor of Science in 新闻 degree on either the 新闻 and Information or Strategic Communication tracks, or develop an individualized course of study within the journalism framework through the Carr Van Anda 程序. We also offer the Advertising and Public Relations minor新闻 minor.


Our graduate 程序 offers the Master of Science Degree in 新闻, with the chance for students to take part in a double-degree 程序 in partnership with the University of Leipzig in Germany.  We also offer a three-year Ph.D. 程序 in mass communication-journalism.

E.W. Scripps School of 新闻 is also home to a host of special 程序s, including the High School 新闻 Workshop, one of the longest-running 程序s of its kind, the Schuneman Symposium, which brings acclaimed journalists and experts to 俄亥俄州, 和 Kiplinger 程序 in Public Affairs 新闻.
